We’ve Got Soul

In light of everything that happened over the last week with Hurricane Sandy, the one place that was still soulful and in true New York spirit was SoulCycle uptown. All the downtowners in the blackout, migrated to the Upper East and Upper West Side studios almost instantaneously, as emails rolled in with news of added classes. Not only did the bustling uptown life boost our dim spirits, but setting foot in the SoulCycle studio brought a healing calm as it was the only hint of routine we’d experienced in days. And it woke our souls.

Despite the tragic aftermath of Sandy, one thing remains the same: New York’s Got Soul.

Trippy Hippies and Peaceful Warriors

We’re proud of a lot of things we’ve made and done at DANNIJO, but one of our greatest achievements to date, was getting our good friend ?uestlove, to wake up–when he’s usually winding down–and deejay our Spring/Summer 2013 Brunch at 9am.  I think the most exciting thing about fashion week is the behind the scenes.  For this season, we wanted to share our creative process and the making of our show with you so you knew how much Love really went into making DANNIJO, and our experiences.  Peep the 72 hour time lapse and see some pretty faces (Brooklyn Decker, Monet Mazur, Leandra Medine, Caroline Issa, Kate Davidson Hudson, Lynn Yaeger, Olivier Zahm, Julie Gilhart, and more), the gifting of a gansta medallion to our boy Ahmir, and up close and personal glimpes of our Spring/Summer 2013 collection.
