Yes We Did

I was reading the New York Post this past Sunday, sipping on my soy misto at Starbucks, and was really inspired by all of the coverage on the upcoming inauguration of Barack Obama, so I decided to hop on a train and head to DC to be part of the action. It turned out to be quite the journey. I arrived at 1:45 am on MLK day to find 500 other people waiting in the taxi line at the train station. It was next to impossible to get a cab and it was freezing!

On Tuesday, January 20, I’m lucky enough to say that I was able to witness history. Throngs of people headed towards Capitol Hill–an estimated 2 million were there to witness Obama’s oath and inauguration ceremony. The spirit was contagious. I walked by crowds of people holding signs and Barack Puppets.
