We loved pretty much everything about this show (rave review alert).  It’s runway but wearable.  We especially loved the au naturel makeup (rosy cheeks, pale pouts, porcelain skin), big whimsical ringlet hair, suede clog platforms and use of layering (ie. long sleeve shirts under tube dresses and 3/4 length jackets).  Great color palette and attention to detail.  And Javier Peral’s deejay beats were icing on the cake.

Homeward bound late last night after a whirlwind of fashion week adventures,  Jodie turned to me in the cab and said, “our lives are not normal.”  There hasn’t been a dull moment in past 48 hrs of fashion week here at DANNIJO.

ABC Home and Carpet is a favorite destination of ours on its own, but when we heard that Erin Wasson would be showing her collection for RVCA amongst stacks of gorgeous Persian rugs we were floored (no pun intended). Erin is known for her laid back rock-inspired style, and after the epic psychedelic performance by Gang Gang Dance at her show last season, we had a feeling we were in for a musical treat.

 “I don’t like the jewelry…I LOVE the [DANNIJO] jewelry,” were Walter’s only words to designers Danielle & Jodie Snyder moments before the show began.  

The Walter SS10 runway show was rockin’.  With an 80s retro vibe, a bubbles finale and the 1 dangle earring effect, it was a hell of a show.  And we loved the clutch use of DANNIJO: stacked cuffs, entangled and chained necklaces and rocker earrings on one ear (the ultimate 80s tribute).  Front row attendees included Brooke Burke and Kristin Cavallari.  Check it out for yourself…

DANNIJO Collar and hoops SS10 Collection

Inspiration behind the DANNIJO for Carlos Campos Spring 2010 Collection: Carlos’ SS10 collection is “a new take on 1920s Art Deco.” Carlos wanted to explore its foundations through “eclectic forms of modernism. It was greatly influenced by the architectural design of Tadao Ando and the photography of Richard Pare in The Colors of Light,” so we wanted the jewelry to complement the futuristic aesthetic without overpowering or competing with it.  We employed DANNIJO’s signature use of chains, graphic crystal patterns and architectural lines to accent the clothing.

DANNIJO for Carlos Campos Illustrations as seen in WWD

Go ahead and set your DVRs if you don’t usually wake up to the Today Show because Danielle & Jodie Snyder of DANNIJO will be on it, with America’s favorite Natalie Morales, this Tuesday Sept 15th during the 8am-9am time slot. 

Needless to say, it’s a big Fashion week for DANNIJO.  Designers Danielle & Jodie Snyder have designed two capsule collections for Carlos Campos and Bensoni for SS10, which will be unveiled at New York fashion week on Friday, Sept 11, 2009, at the two designers presentations.  The DANNIJO designers will also co-host Fashion’s Night Out (I’d Rather Wear Accessories) at Henri Bendel tomorrow night so be sure to pop by for non-stop fun and shopping from 6PM-11PM.

DANNIJO has also been tapped to provide jewelry for Walter’s runway show on Tuesday, Sept 15, as well as for Nima Taherzadeh’s presentation which took place this afternoon at Jack Studios.
