Jodie and I have been scavenging all of our favorite vintage spots and flea markets for inspiration as fashion week nears. Amidst our hectic day of vintage sporting, we ran into pro stylist, Rachel Zoe, who couldn’t have been cooler (she loved our DANNIJO). Hope she makes it to the Luca Luca show at the Bryant park tents where we’ll be debuting Fall 2010. Here are some of our latest purchases, displayed by trend. Dowload La Roux’sBulletproofHERE and scroll down to the beat…
Jodie and I came out to desertland for a few days to take a break from the cold and get some inspiration for the upcoming few collections and the decor of the NEWDANNIJO Showroom in the meatpacking district (yay!!!). Here are some photos from today. Right now, we’re really inspired by the Wild Wild West and everything African…
I make sure to finish by this quote every time I run on the west side highway because it reminds me why I love New York so much: “For me this was not a city of realities but of dreams.” –Ralph Ellison
True that, DANNIJO. Working on getting the NEW Boho collection up… should be live by Monday, so be on the lookout. Happy Saturday! Xx, Danielle

Decked in DANNIJO with a “Dances with Wolves” motif
Jodie and I scrambled at the last minute to make DANNIJO-infused Halloween get-ups. I’d been talking about Halloween for the past 2 weeks because it’s the most exciting holiday of the year (besides my birthday–which yes, I consider a holiday). Jodie could care less but was remotely excited by default because I wouldn’t shut up about us needing to get costumes and since we live and work together she didn’t get much breathing room from Halloween-talk.
SEE The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame + Museumat the NYC Annex in SoHo. I went with some friends on what would have been John Lennon’s 69th birthday to check out JOHN LENNON: THE NEW YORK CITY YEARS exhibit produced by Yoko Ono, and was blown away by the museum. As you walk through the exhibit, you wear headphones that magically adjust to play a perfectly in sync “soundtrack” to your experience. While you’re checking out Johnny Cash’s customized boots and original guitar, “Walk The Line” comes on… as you walk over to Michael Jackson’s handwritten scrapbook of lyrics and gloves, “Bad” blares. I read an amusing handwritten letter Paul Simon had written to ArtGarfunkel from camp (mainly about babes and hot chicks) while Simon & Garfunkel classics played on my headset. I dorked out– literally could have spent all day there, and I may have to go back again soon to read all the bits I missed in the nooks and crannies. It was great inspiration for DANNIJO. You’ll be sure to see some references in the upcoming collection. Definitely worth checking out–especially if you’re a local.
HEAR A friend of mine emailed me this today and said, “amazing, right?” It is. Download it and you’ll want to know more about this SoKo girl.
Inspiration behind the DANNIJO for Carlos Campos Spring 2010 Collection: Carlos’ SS10 collection is “a new take on 1920s Art Deco.” Carlos wanted to explore its foundations through “eclectic forms of modernism. It was greatly influenced by the architectural design of Tadao Ando and the photography of Richard Pare in The Colors of Light,” so we wanted the jewelry to complement the futuristic aesthetic without overpowering or competing with it. We employed DANNIJO’s signature use of chains, graphic crystal patterns and architectural lines to accent the clothing.
