For the behind the “seams” on DANNIJO, check out teen.com’s latest video of founders Danielle & Jodie Snyder, below (click “more” to watch video here).
I’ve pretty much been obsessed with Ed Bradley since the first time I saw 60 minutes as a young girl, and since then I’ve always dreamt of being a journalist.
That being said, about a year ago I decided to start a small project to get my journalistic fix as a jewelry designer: the DANNIJO Interview Series. Nothing excites me more than intriguing people. To my dismay I didn’t post as many interviews as I would have liked in 2009 (fortunately it was a busy year for DANNIJO). As entrepreneurs, Jodie and I have been lucky enough to meet some incredibly interesting people, and I thought it’d be cool to share the experiences with you. The eclectic range of people we interview on PULSE have one thing in common—Jodie and I met them in the midst of DANNIJO’s journey to greatness, and each has in some way or another inspired us—they’re actors, businessmen, musicians, make-up artists, designers, university presidents, entrepreneurs, and more.

To kick off the series, I had interviewed pal philanthropist/actress/director/businesswoman Natalie Portman.
Geemania (pronounced with a hard “G”): 1. to be wholeheartedly obsessed with the iconic “bowtied”E. Gordon Gee so much as to be “unable to hold oneself back” from interrupting his dinner or any personal engagement wherein he is present. 2. A common symptom experienced by any of his former students or parents of his students from the following universities: Vanderbilt, Ohio State, West Virginia, Colorado or Brown.
With Chancellor Gee pre kick-off at the Ohio State vs Iowa Game
Ever wondered what it’s like to party with a rockstar? Well I experienced it first-hand this past weekend on my first-ever trip to Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio—not a place I would have initially associated with Rockstardom having lived in Nashville, Tennessee and New York City.
Unfortunately, our Fox Business segment was pushed due to this week’s influx in healthcare coverage. We’ll be sure to keep you posted on the new time slot.
Nov 16th, 2009 issue of New York Mag: The Bangles
In the meantime, check out New York Mag’s interview with DANNIJO designers, Danielle & Jodie Snyder—it’s a great issue focused on how New York became America’s music capital again.
Danielle and Jodie Snyder talk business with Liz Claman and David Asman on today’s Fox Business: how they started, getting in the door at Bergdorf, Beyonce wearing DANNIJO and their take on Barack Obama’s speech on small business loans. Check it out

“…And for so many years I was looking behind me and I was looking in front me and I wasn’t able to appreciate the moment—that’s the greatest gift I think that I’ve had as a result of everything… the one thing that we have going for us is right here, right now and I love that. I love that I not only know that but that I live that and I recognize that to my core.” —John Forte
”John Forté grab the mic roots sway it this way…” You may have heard his kickass snarky solo in Wyclefs Tryin’ To Stay Alive or maybe you heard about him when he was nominated for a Grammy for his work with the Fugees. And, sadly, you may have forgotten about him—he had a not-so-brief 7 year sabbatical behind bars (FCI Loretto, a federal prison in central Pennsylvania). In 2000, Forté was arrested at Newark International Airport after accepting a briefcase containing $1.4 million worth of liquid cocaine; he was charged with possession with intent to distribute cocaine and conspiracy to distribute.
Lauren Ellison: Junior journalism major at the University of Georgia, worked directly with our PR agency to pull together pieces for photo shoots and other styling opportunities. Managed all jewelry styleouts and returns. Basically rocked in a major way and kept us laughing non-stop.
We would be Ca-Razy not to interview our summer ‘09 interns for PULSE. They were, have been, and will be the pulse of DANNIJO…
Amanda Olmstead: Senior fashion/accessory design major at Parsons School of Design. She was DANNIJO’s design-focused intern and was involved in an array of projects, including (but not limited to) generating new illustrations and graphics for the website, new story boards, original patterns for packaging, promotional items, as well as contributing to the design process for the SS2010 collection. She is nothing short of AMAZING and we love her.

DANNIJO was the direct result of sisters’ Danielle and Jodie Snyder’s desire to design a collection of jewelry that was a fusion of their personalities: a little bohemian and a little rock-n-roll. The line, co-designed by Danielle and Jodie, was officially born in early 2008 and now includes a full range of their signature entangled necklaces, pendants, bracelets, earrings, cuffs, and rings.
